Even though it happens to everyone, losing a tooth for the first time
can make kids nervous or apprehensive.
"Arthur's Tooth" offers a
funny story that helps make the loss of baby teeth less scary. It shows
kids that they are not alone in losing their teeth, while also telling a
story that is silly enough to keep them engaged (I liked The Brain's odd-looking tooth extraction contraption.)
The book even manages
to pass along a few educational bits, such as "Between the ages of four
and seven, everyone begins to lose their deciduous, or baby, teeth."
