Historical list of Los Angeles Unified school board members: District 3

Since the Los Angeles Unified School District started electing Board of Education members by geographic district in 1979, seven people have held the District 3 seat. They are: 

• Tamar Galatzen: 2007-present
• Jon M. Lauritzen,   2003-2007
• Caprice Young,  1999-2007
• Jeff Horton,  1991-1999
• Jackie Goldberg, 1983-1991
• Tony Trias, 1980-1983*
• Kathleen Brown, 1979-1980

*Trias was appointed to the seat after Brown resigned.

While the boundaries have changed over the years, District 2 currently encompasses the western part of the San Fernando Valley, including Northridge, Canoga Park and Porter Ranch. See map.
